WHO HE IS
With more than 25 years of management experience in SaaS-based emerging technology companies including IoT, Digital Marketing, Internet Backbone, and Wireless industries, CJ has led teams of more than 100 associates, overseen annual budgets in excess of $20M and grown companies from $3M to over $40M in annual recurring revenue.

WHAT HE’S BEEN UP TO
In 1990, CJ began his professional career as a CPA, establishing a solid foundation in all core business functions – sales, client success, support, business development, marketing, finance, and operations.
From 1995 to 2004 CJ helped grow internet infrastructure and marketing companies, NTT/Verio and You Networks. He also worked with wireless companies, VoiceStream Wireless and Nextel Communications. As a Sales and Account Management leader, CJ helped these companies create and launch new markets and products, structure sales, support and operations teams, and grow revenue from under $100,000 to over $200 Million.
Then from 2004 to 2010, CJ worked with many early-stage companies assisting them with business creation and strategy, budgeting and finance, staff development, sales and marketing, but most importantly, driving significant revenue increases. CJ created and executed sales initiatives and support procedures at Fortior Solutions resulting in revenue growth from zero to $3.7 million.
CJ spent 9 years with G5 delivering digital marketing solutions to the Real Estate Sector. Leading the sales org, he had a consistent track record of 25%+ YOY growth. As a result, G5 revenue increased from $4M to $40M.
CJ was the CEO of Caligoo, an early stage, SaaS-based, CX Engagement Platform startup. He helped orchestrate the transition of the company from Italy-based to US-based and implemented the GTM plans to start driving revenue in the US.
In 2020 CJ joined SmartRent (NYSE: SMRT) as their first Chief Revenue Officer. He played an integral role in taking the company public in 2021. In his 2.5 years at SmartRent:
- Increased organic clients from 28 to 318 (+1,035%), with total portfolio >6M units
- Grew quarterly revenue from $9M to $42M (+366%)
- Increased ARR from $3.1M to $30.6M (+887%)
- Maintained zero percent customer churn
- Increased ARR Bookings 290% in first year, 113% in second year, and on pace for 130% in third year
- Hired 82 people, increasing the sales team from 4 to 40, and creating teams for RevOps, Solutions Engineering, GTM Strategy, Sales Enablement, and Sales Development Reps.
